Even through a recession U.S. consumers redeem just 1%-3% of paper coupons, but up to half of the coupons that sends to its customers are redeemed - because it uses a data-mining firm it part-owns...
By analyzing data from its loyalty cards, Kroger knows what products to stock and how many of them. The data also allow the grocer to send customers coupons for items they regularly buy. The result?
