It's hard to be mad at the Stars after that one, because they fixed a lot of problems and were a lot better.
Stars nation turns a lonely eye to you. (Sung to the tune of Mrs. Robinson). OK, so what is wrong with the Stars on the shootout this year?
It was ugly, no two ways about it. Marty Turco was fantastic. The two goals where defensive coverage left players all alone in front? What do you do there? The other two? Meh.
WHEN: 5 tonight WHERE: Xcel Energy Center TV, RADIO: Fox Sports Midwest, KMOX (1120) BLUES PREVIEW: The Blues are 2-1 against the Wild this season, with all three games won by the home team.
Chris Pronger scored the game-winner with 2.1 seconds left in regulation as Philadelphia edged Chicago, 3-2, at Wachovia Center.
SATURDAY'S ROUNDUP (3/13/10): Now that most fantasy league trade deadlines are officially behind us, owners can begin to shift their focus to making the playoffs.
Trevor Daley, Jeff Woywitka and Mike Modano all want to chase Mancari behind the net, and that leaves Tomas Vanek all alone in the slot. Vanek chips in his 20th of the year to make it 4-3 Sabres
Jamei Benn flips a shot in that Ryan Miller would just normally swat away. That makes it 3-2 Stars. Then, Jaosn Pominville deflected in a Tyler Myers shot to make it 3-3. Ridiculous.
Just after a Sabres power play expires, Mark Mancari shovels one in from right in front of Marty Turco. D-man Craig Rivet made a nice push up past the goal line, and then fed Mancari in the slot.
Tyler Myers takes the shot and it bounces off a ton of stuff. Marty Turco makes a pad save, but the puck deflects off of Trevor Daley and into the net. It is 1-0 at 55 seconds of the first.
Nicklas Grossman (back) Jere Lehtinen (illness) Brian Sutherby (shoulder) Are scratched. Fabian Brunnstrom and Jeff Woywitka are in. Starting line is Morrow-Ribeiro-Barch.
Maybe he's closer to returning than we thought. Brian Sutherby has missed 10 games with a shoulder injury, but with Jere Lehtinen ill, maybe we could see big forward back in the lineup tonight.
Hockey Canada announced on Wednesday that all of Sidney Crosby's equipment from the gold medal game at the 2010 Olympics has ...
Chace from Minneapolis and Matthew each picked Stars victories in the game against Washington and stunned the masses. So they are the winners there. Can Dallas keep that up?
Both are officially game-time decisions, but I think both are doubtful. Grossman tested his back and will do so again in the pregame skate, but I just think they want him to rest another day.
The geniuses at the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee had some fun, and we all benefit. It's proof that Dallas sports celebrities are good sports. Evan Grant has more here.
Home never felt so good for the Canucks.
Mikael Samuelsson scored twice and added an assist, and the Vancouver Canucks returned home from an NHL-record 14 straight road games to beat the Ottawa Senators 5-1 on Saturday.
Bertuzzi has gone 17 games without a goal, his last coming Jan. 23 against the Los Angeles Kings. He has eight assists in that span with a minus-5 rating.
Ryan Miller got a warm reception, playing in his home state for the first time since helping the United States win a silver medal at the Olympics.
