SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Safeway Inc. , one of the nation's largest grocery-store chains, on Thursday forecast its 2009 earnings will be in the range of $2.34 to $2.44 a share.
Safeway Inc. told investors Thursday that it expects to earn between $2.34 and $2.44 per share in 2009, in line with analyst expectations.
Safeway Stores Inc. will hold its 2008 investor conference call Thursday, when the grocer is expected to discuss how it will navigate in the tough economy.
